The deck was previously coated with an inexpensive decking oil that had passed its effective life. The existing coating was stripped from the deck and the timber cleaned prior to being oiled with Cutek CD50. These fantastic results have been achieved over a weekend as a DIY project.

Cutek CD50 is extremely slow drying to ensure maximum penetration into the timber is achieved. This provides dimensional stability to the timber to minimise warping, cupping and splitting. The more oil that is allowed to absorb into the timber the longer the coating will last.

Depending on the weather conditions and the porosity of the timber, it can be as long as 72 hours after the first coat is applied before it can be recoated.

Now is the season to recoat all your exterior timber decking, doors and window frames. To achieve the ultimate in timber protection for your situation, pop in to a Crowies Paints store and ask our friendly, knowledgeable staff for advice.
