Handy Hints for Painting in Cold Weather #4

04 Jul, 2017
It generally takes paint longer to dry and cure in cold, damp conditions. This not only extends the touch dry time but will also extend the recoat times recommended by the manufacturer. Recoat times are calculated based on ambient temperature of 25C and 50% humidity. As a rough guide, water based paint recoat times can be extended from 4hrs to 6 hrs and solvent based enamel recoat times can be extended to 48hrs or longer.
