Oiling timber with Penetrol

Can you oil interior timber with Penetrol?

Penetrol is a clear oil that has many uses. It can be used as a conditioner (additive) for oil based paints and varnishes to help flow and levelling so that your finish is brush mark free. It can be used as a rust preventative on metal as it migrates into the pores of the steel and prevents moisture and oxygen form causing rust.

Penetrol can also be used as an oil for finishing timber. Penetrol can be applied by brush, rag or steel wool. When rubbed in with steel wool you get a very smooth finish similar to wax or Scandinavian oil.
